JN proudly presents the pinnacle of C-kites in its fourth generation, the Prima Donna 4. At such a highly developed stage, small design changes create a big difference, therefore JN kept an eye on perfecting the already well loved freestyle machine.
Double seams, Teijin sailcloth, durable Kevlar and Dacron reinforcements and sophisticated material combinations all contribute to excellent build quality. With no shortcuts or compromises, this is a kite built to a specification not a price point.
JN don't simply scale the design for each kite down. Each size of kite has a profile individually designed and tested for its respective wind speed, making each kite size unique and perfectly adapted for its wind range.
JN developed floating batten system (FBT) in 2005. It allows the profile to adapt itself to changing winds. Gusts or instantly increasing winds are balanced by the FBT system that allows automatic adjustment of the kite's profile and as a result extends the wind range of each size.
The perfect round arc shape drastically reduces drag on the leading edge, which translates into optimised and dynamic flying characteristics. Less drag means a faster kite through the window, as well as increased flying and turning speed. No other kites currently on the market use this special cutting technique. Less seams and stitching on the leading edge tube reduces weight, increases rigidity of the leading edge, and also makes the kite even more robust.
For 2010, the Prima Donna is available in a complete range of new sizes allowing the rider to tailor their quiver perfectly to body weight and wind conditions. Choose from any size between 6 and 14m2.
